Job Summary:

  • Akima Systems Engineering seeks an experienced VOIP Engineer in support of HQ, INSCOM, at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead, execute, monitor, maintain, and improve unclassified and classified VOIP deployments (from inception to continuous improvement).

  • Recommend, compile, and deliver training for VOIP users and Tier I/II maintainers.

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain legacy Nortel and Avaya digital phone infrastructure and systems.

  • Submit tickets for NSTS phone systems.

  • Provide weekly and monthly written reports of work accomplished.

  • Potentially serve as future Team Lead of 4-person phone team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current TOP SECRET clearance w/ SCI eligibility as recorded in DISS (formerly JPAS)

  • Current DOD IAT Level II baseline certification

  • High School Diploma

  • Five or more years' experience leading a telecom team in a classified environment

  • Experience leading classified VOIP deployments for 1000+ users

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

  • Outstanding customer service skills

  • Outstanding leadership and followership skills

  • Self-starter/learner/motivator

  • Ability to travel up to 25% (this is a contractual requirement, but actual travel will be almost zero)

Security Clearance Required:

  • Candidate must already have an active or current United States government security clearance at the TOP SECRET level with a SCI read-on (TS/SCI) to be considered for this position (it must be in the JPAS/DISS system).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with configuring phones via CUCM (Cisco Unified Communications Manager)

  • Proficiency with Service now, IHELP, or NETPLUS ticketing systems

  • One or more CCNA certifications

  • CCNA Voice Certification

  • Recent Intelligence Community experience
