KBR GEOINT Ground Systems Engineer in Fort Belvoir, Virginia

Title:

GEOINT Ground Systems Engineer

KBR is seeking a GEOINT Ground Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services at Fort Belvoir, VA. You will work multiple ground system projects and tasks—from broad, strategic issues (e.g. policies, concept of operations, etc.) to tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, etc.). While your duties may fluctuate, you will primarily be responsible for:

  • Supporting Chief Engineer and government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities across the site.

  • Working with SE&I teams to follow site system engineering process; overseeing site processes used to document and manage site baseline to accommodate mission growth.

  • Interfacing with System Program Offices (SPO) to integrate various GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture, ensure the delivering organization understands site integration needs and processes.

  • Assisting in developing standards, processes and procedures; reviewing and evaluating technical documentation (e.g. CONOPS, requirements; issues and risks, etc.).

  • Representing government’s interests at various forums; p roviding analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers.

  • Coordinating with key project managers on a routine basis to evaluate contractor performance.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required:

  • Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph.

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and nine (9) years or more experience; or master’s in STEM field and seven (7) years or more experience.

  • Technical knowledge of ground communications and mission data processing systems, familiar with space vehicle mission planning and command and control systems.

  • Full system engineering life cycle experience.

  • Ability to work independently to support multiple government customers and large, complex projects to address organization’s needs throughout system development lifecycle.

  • Self-starter, proactively addresses customer requirements without supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics.

  • Polished communicator (written/verbal), impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.

  • Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder.

    Desired:

  • Real-time operations experience as a GEOINT spacecraft operator, spacecraft engineer, or ground systems operator; familiar with space operations and policies.

  • Familiar with Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, cloud technologies, government technical standards.

  • Project management experience with delivered systems.
