JOB REQUIREMENTS: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Polishing stainless steel framework, tubing, sheet metal and fabricated parts Selecting abrasives and/or pastes according to materials, sizes and shapes of work pieces, amount of stock to be removed, finishes specified, and steps in finishing processes Verifying quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them Document process measurements using the required forms Must be proficient using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other gages to ensure conformance to specifications Deciphers blueprints of parts, machines and/or dies Maintains a clean work area, machines, tools and equipment Follows all safety and shop rules and regulations Performs other duties as assigned ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred 1-2 years\' experience with structural material, hand tools and power tools and stainless steel grinding/polishing Communication Skills: Ability to read and write simple instructions and short correspondence Ability to effectively report relevant data and job specific information as needed Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform intermediate mathematics Computer Skills: Ability to navigate basic technology, phones, time clocks and other systems where applicable Work Environment: The Polisher/Grinder interacts with machinery within the facility, which often involves heat, noise, debris, conveyance systems and other potentially dangerous equipment.
