Job Description

JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE

The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing various types of equipment and assisting the Lead Maintenance Technician with specialized tasks.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cleans and maintains tools and equipment. Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on various equipment.

  • Performs sandblast (street signs, light poles/fixtures, archways, bridges, trash receptacles, shade structures, benches).

  • Installs, repairs and removes concrete. Replaces/repairs sidewalk panels. Installs and repairs stone and brick.

  • Assists Lead Maintenance Technician in performing various projects and tasks.

  • Assists Lead Maintenance Technician in training new team members. Assists with project scheduling and team management as needed.

  • May also assist other employees with other tasks including: Completes asphalt repairs, conducts general pressure washing of boardwalks and applies sealer; Paints property assets including curbs, crosswalks, fences, benches, etc.

  • Maintains files and records of work orders and task completion. Orders materials.

  • Cleans shop area.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Willing to work all shifts, including: weekends, holidays, evening and 24-hour emergency on call.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Education/Experience : High School Diploma or GED and 3-5 years of experience.

Licenses/Certifications : Valid Driver’s License (Other licenses (may vary according to specific site and assignments).

Technical : Ability to follow manual & operating instructions. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet & CMMS Systems. Advanced knowledge of all aspects of mechanical & hydraulic systems troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance activities. Knowledge of hazardous material handling.

Communication : Communicates clearly & professionally. Contributes to a positive internal & external customer experience. Maintains composure in challenging situations. Collaborates with others. Asks for constructive feedback. Communicates detailed information.

Problem Solving & Quality : Pays attention to detail. Identifies & solves complex issues. Escalates issues accordingly; Checks work for quality. Shares suggestions to improve quality & productivity. Identifies, solves complex issues.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently lift 50-60 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
