ProSphere Tek Database Administrator and Architect in Forest Park, Georgia

Overview

Cognito Systems, a Planned Systems International (PSI) joint venture, isseeking a skilled Database Administrator and Architect. The purpose of this overall project is to provide centralized credentialing and privileging services and support to the United States Army Reserve (USAR) Command with initial entry credentialing, maintenance of credentialing and privileging, and support the Centralized Credentials Privileging Board’s review of completed credentials and privileging files.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

The Information Technology Specialist(s) shall also function as Software Developer/Application Programmer(s), Database Administrator and Architect and Computer Network Support Specialist. The applicant will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of computer science principles, information management principles, automated data processing (ADP) functions, hardware and software systems' structures and operation, and computer programming languages and techniques to solve automation problems

  • Interface with and use minicomputer and mainframe computer systems in addressing project objectives

  • Use standard or conventional approaches, methods and techniques to define, plan, organize, design, refresh/modify, test and integrate data base or data processing systems, computer hardware systems and simulation models

  • Assist in formulating architectural design, functional specifications, interfaces and documentation of hardware or software system

  • Use detailed specifications and adapt standardized techniques, methods, criteria and precedents to refresh or modify portions of a system or program

  • Responsible for segments or phases of broader and more complex projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor or postgraduate degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or engineering from an accredited college or university; or eight (8) years of combined education (at the undergraduate level in any academic field) and at least three (3) years’ experience

  • Experience and / or the ability to perform software program refreshment, systems testing, and production of graphic and statistical reports

  • Experience with Federal Government systems and requirements for maintaining access to these systems

  • Within 6 months of contract start date, Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification as well as achieve and maintain certification in all applications utilized in the computing environment (if certification is available)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, to include, but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality Assurance preferred.

  • Experience in the DOD credentials process preferred
