This is a job for a Sr. Specialist Raw Materials position with a company located in Forest, MS.

Job Purpose/Summary: This position is responsible for continually improving the quality of raw materials, i.e. offal, heads, feet, viscera, going into RVI rendering plants from internal and third party processing plant suppliers. Responsibility also includes working with on-site fleet manager, ensuring offal trailers are picked up on time through normal DOT scheduling practices and procedures, along with trailer clean up. Other responsibilities include producing documentation at each supply plant during visits, eliminating water, mixed loads, and DOAs along with other duties that may arise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: On-site plant visits to problem solve and communicate opportunities to Plant leadership to improve quality of raw materials which involves working with plant leadership, (Plant/Complex mgr.) ensuring proper SOPs are in place. Work with ISG margin mgmt. to show paybacks (N2G) for any project improvement savings that is accreditive to earnings. Coordination with on-site Fleet Managers to ensure timely, accurate, and quality supply chain processes are met that align with DOT regulations. i.e., overweight loads...

Requirements: 4-year college degree in Animal Science preferred. 5+ years of meat processing plant experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfort in presenting to various levels of management in the organization. Motivated and self-directed person who has the desire to learn from others; ability to work independently or as a team; strong problem-solving skills; time management and multi-tasking abilities; and strong interpersonal skills. Daily regional travel with valid driver's license. 2-6 overnight trips annually. This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who performs similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities.
