Mustad USA Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift in Forest Lake, Minnesota

$2,000.00 Bonus = $1,000 after 90 days and $1,000 after 1 year

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician supports horseshoe manufacturing operations by maintaining, trouble-shooting, improving, and repairing manufacturing equipment, and assisting with building maintenance. Demonstrates Mustad values, showing respect for and engagement with co-workers, especially as they contribute to a quality product and organization success.

Essential Job Functions (required duties and responsibilities)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Installs, maintains and repairs facility equipment and systems including but not limited to packing and line machines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, air compressors, plumbing and HVAC systems, etc.

  • Supports Production department with proper machine operation, trouble shooting and change over activities

  • Follows all safety and SOP regulations and procedures, including Mustad Performance Systems (MPS)

  • Assists with monitoring and maintaining sufficient and cost-effective inventories of parts and supplies

  • Ensures all hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored and handled properly and that all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are maintained and updated as required

  • Provides documentation as needed, including data entry into PM software

  • Performs preventative maintenance on an established schedule, including testing on energized electrical equipment

  • Performs other duties as requested by management

    Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Training and/or certification in electrical, mechanical or another related field with basic knowledge in PLC and robotics

  • 5+ years of general maintenance experience including trouble shooting and correcting problems with

mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pumps and motors, control circuits and power supply maybe

considered in lieu of formal training

  • Demonstrated skills in operating hand and power tools

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and blueprint and schematic interpretation

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English verbal and written instructions

  • Computer and MS Office literate

    Desirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required)

  • Advanced PLC Programming and Robotics skills

    Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking

  • Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, bend, balance, reach above shoulders, crouch

  • Ability for frequent use of hands to feel, handle, touch, or manipulate

  • Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

  • Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 75 pounds

    Work Environment

  • Factory setting

  • Exposure to heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, airborne particles

  • Exposure to significantly loud noise

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts on production lines, as well as moving equipment throughout the factory

  • Mandatory use of company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Infrequent exposure to heights
