JOB SPECIFICS

This is position is a special project and funded through December 2024.

Washington County Community Services is seeking talented and motivated staff to join our Access Navigation Team who play a vital role in assisting with issues and making important connections to programs and services. Examples of duties

  • Assist residents in the service center and libraries with navigating support within the county and community

  • Maintain knowledge of county services through trainings and meetings and staying up to date of program changes at the county, city and state level

  • Navigate issues that residents may be facing and connect them to solutions and/or staff that will allow them to get the supports and services that they need

  • Assist residents in gathering needed documentation and assist with application completion

  • Maintain documentation requirements to include referrals and inquiries. Adhere to tracking compliance

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience interacting with and providing customer service to individuals from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds

  • Paid work experience or training in support or administration of public assistance programs such as emergency assistance

  • Paid work experience providing customer service in a high-volume setting

  • Paid work experience working with private and/or confidential client information

  • Paid/lived experience/voluntary services in the community

  • Associates degree or higher in behavioral sciences, human services, accounting, math or business

SELECTION TECHNIQUE : Your training and experience will be rated based on the required application material submitted and the top scoring candidates will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration.

HOURS / DAYS : 40 hours between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Work hours will include some evenings and possibly weekend hours, as needed. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.

ANTICIPATED HIRING RATE : $23.82 Hourly

JOB SUMMARY

The Case Aide-Community Services helps clients to obtain and maintain eligibility for social services and assists other professional staff in maintaining compliance with program requirements, and process financial transactions. Duties may vary depending on assigned program area.

EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a High School diploma (or equivalent) and three years (full time equivalent) of employment in a general office support position in a professional office setting; or, completion of an office support certificate/degree program and two years (full time equivalent) of employment in a general office support position in a professional office setting.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide case support:

• Open and maintain client eligibility records;

• Review case records for completion; and

• Interview clients to obtain and verify information.

Maintain compliance with state, federal and county regulations and requirements:

• Perform statistical computations;

• Participate in the development of procedures for service operations;

• Identify procedural changes and communicate to affected staff;

• Develop and create spreadsheets and reports; and

• Provide administrative support for advisory or community committees.

Process financial transactions:

• Authorize, verify and process service payment of services;

• Code and reconcile payments;

• Coordinate billing for social services expenses;

• Establish records to ensure reimbursement of eligible funding;

• Work directly with healthcare companies, Medical Assistance program, and providers for payment of eligible expenses; and

• Assist with budget process as requested.

Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is sedentary in nature performed within the Government Center, satellite offices or on occasion client homes. Lifting requirement of 15 - 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Wrist and finger manipulation due to filing, compiling, calculating, or computer work. Equipment used may include, but is not limited to, computer, typewriter, calculator, telephone, copy and fax machine, scanner and dictaphone. Additional physical/mental requirements that occur may not be listed above, but are inherent in performing the position's essential functions.
