Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Plant Operations & Maintenance Technician in Forbes, Minnesota

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Technician. This is the entry-level job posting for United Taconite located in Eveleth and Forbes, Minnesota. Summary of Responsibilities:

  • This position operates various ore processing and pelletizing equipment, such as crushers, filters, grinding mill areas, balling drum areas, furnace/kiln equipment.

  • Performs light maintenance on the equipment being operated.

  • People hired to fill this position will also have an opportunity to bid on any bargaining unit openings (including mining equipment operators) that develop.

  • This position involves a variety of operating areas; incumbents are expected to become trained in all areas over time for maximum flexibility in assignments.

  • These positions work a rotating schedule of 12 hour shifts to provide 24/7 coverage for the facility.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years post-secondary with 2 years’ experience; or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mining specific experience

  • Industrial and/or plant experience

  • Mobile and/or heavy equipment operating experience

    Successful candidates will need to pass a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen; background check, and other pre-employment testing.
