Robert Half Staff Accountant in Foothill Ranch, California

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Foothill Ranch, California. This role involves various accounting and financial tasks, including the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes, recording accounts payable transactions, and preparing accurate financial reports. The Staff Accountant will also assist in compliance requirements and other accounting tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Support the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and accruals

• Record accounts payable transactions and perform month-end reconciliation

• Maintain and reconcile AvaTax transactions

• Prepare assigned general ledger account reconciliations and verify the accuracy of data

• Assist with the review of expenses, payments, etc. as assigned

• Prepare or update periodic reports of financial status information – expenses, sales, etc.

• Maintain accounting/corporate records by maintaining a paperless filing and retrieval system ensuring past and current records are available as needed

• Assist with compliance requirements using guidance provided by parent company

• Assist with other accounting tasks or projects as needed

• Prepare annual 1099 filing

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software. Requirements • Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting role

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in bank reconciliations and general ledger

• Proficient in preparing journal entries and month-end close

• Experience with software including NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong understanding of GAAP

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Must have legal right to work in the United States.
