GENERAL FUNCTION

Quality Auditor I will be responsible for conducting visual inspections of individual components (semi-finished goods) including lens blanks, cut and coated lenses and frame components to ensure products meet the required Quality standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Successfully complete and pass a Quality Training Certification focus on the component/area they will be inspecting.

  • Inspect Lens Blanks, Cut Lens, Painted Frames and/or Molded Frames using established criteria.

  • Responsible for performing 100% and/or AQL inspections of individual components.

  • Record data and report findings upon completion of inspection.

  • Follow all written and verbal directions provided by MFG/QA Leadership teams.

  • Mark, separate and prepare defective samples to be reviewed with Quality Lead, QA/MFG Supervisor and/or Quality Engineers in accordance to established processes and procedures.

  • Participate in line startup Set-up approvals as needed by each MFG area.

  • Provide communication to Production & Quality leadership if there is a high frequency of issues or high defect rates for root cause investigation and troubleshooting.

  • Escalate/elevate repeated defects to MFG Leads purposes of investigation and issues resolution.

  • Fill out basic data collection sheets for all inspected lots.

  • Enter data into database after kit is complete (As applicable)

  • Utilize Quality alerts, First Article Samples and limit samples as required.

  • Works safely and maintains a safe, organized, and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Reports safety hazards and work-related injuries to supervision immediately.

  • Work effectively and collaboratively with others.

  • Performs variety of positions in the production area as required by Business needs (Equal or lower job tasks) including post-processing and packaging of components.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed. Not limited to assisting with production and assembly operations.

  • May be assigned to different workstations as production needs require or shift from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor.

  • Attend pre-defined Quality Training certifications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Ability to read documentation, understand it and communicate verbally in English to perform safely and effectively the main job duties (ex. ability to read and understand job safety requirements and procedures, Work instructions, Quality Training and directions from supervisors, lead, or co-worker)

  • Have a near vision capability of 20/40 max with/without corrective prescription eyewear.

  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work more than 8 hours a day, weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain concentration for long periods of time.

  • Quick learners, ability to multi-task, adapt to a quickly changing environment.

  • Self-driven individuals that can work with light supervision as well as a team player.

  • Basic Math Skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide). Data entry / typing skills.

  • Occasionally bends, stoops, and reaches shoulder level for shift duration.

  • Lift up to 25lbs occasionally throughout shift.

  • Ability to use basic computer systems (Office/SAP)

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
