We are growing rapidly and looking for a Human Resources Manager for our Rental segment in operation in Fontana, CA. This role is key to the support rental operations and will serve as a core strategic partner to management. The focus of the role is to assess, coach and support the business as we scale and evolve in a diverse range of assignments including recruiting, benefits, systems, training, performance management, employee relations, and other special projects. We want to continue to enable our teams to accomplish amazing things.

This role is unique in the sense that you'll be a part of building better ways to accomplish work processes for both your internal Western region customers as well as the broader Custom Truck HR group. You will provide a broad range of HR support to business / strategic goals and Human Resources initiatives, proactively partnering with managers to achieve organizational objectives.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and thoughtful HR business partner with a collaborative leadership style. The right person for this role must have comfort with ambiguity and be able to make quick, well-informed decisions while keeping the broader team connected around potential impacts that may arise. This person will embody our evolving culture of teamwork and accountability through their behavior and daily interactions and be willing to invite, receive and promote constructive feedback. They will demonstrate curiosity about our business and have a proven track record of rapid self-learning. They will create an environment of positive employee relations, keeping confidentiality, establishing trust and credibility, and be seen by employees as approachable and fair.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partners with leaders to better understand business challenges and to ensure effective and timely HR support.

  • Provide advice and counsel to leaders and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, and practices to promote a positive work environment.

  • Oversees all aspects of employee relations for assigned geographical region; ensures Company policies are administered fairly and consistently.

  • Partners with the broader Human Resources Team to deliver on corporate initiatives such as benefit communications, compensation, engagement, performance & development, training, and workforce planning strategies to address the current and future needs of the overall business.

  • Collaborates with the centralized recruiting team to support regional recruiting efforts to ensure roles are filled with qualified candidates.

  • Ensures that all employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, investigated, and resolved Assists with recruiting efforts, preparing job descriptions, screening resumes, setting up interviews.

  • Support the training group to organize and provide applicable training in the region.

  • Manage communication processes and related employee programs to foster employee engagement and a positive work culture.

  • Ensures compliance with all governmental rules and regulations.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources/ business preferred or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in HR Generalist level role with a wide array of HR Generalist experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.

  • Knowledge and comfort utilizing various HRIS systems.

  • Action oriented with the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong communications and people skills with the ability to interface with all levels of organization.

  • Excellent project management skills and initiative-taking.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
