How you will contribute: This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your organization and communication skills while overseeing project design progression from inception to completion including design, permits, as-builts, and operations and maintenance manuals. This position will develop a comprehensive design plan to meet schedules and budgets and participate in team and on-site progress meetings. Understand and follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications while ensuring AHJ requirements and procedures are followed.The ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines will be crucial in this role. You will be challenged to excel beyond your expectations in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. You will provide technical leadership of the design function, including CAD, management of files, training and interpretation of external codes, regulations, and specifications. Ensures application of Ahern Design standards and checklists. You will work with the Design Manager and organization leaders to assess learning and training needs, create project scopes, and develop content. Regularly meet with leaders to deliver status updates and resolve any issues. You will be a self-directed team leader who generally works fully autonomously with assigned Project Managers. The Assistant Design Manager will demonstrate technical knowledge and will manage a project start-to-finish with little to no oversight from the Design Manager. What you need to qualify: Ahern will make the most of your 3-5 years of experience in the designof fire alarm systems. Previous experience working in AutoCAD is required.
