Dignity Health @ Mercy Hospital of Folsom is the community hospital serving the Sierra foothills communities of Folsom El Dorado Hills Granite Bay Cameron Park Shingle Springs and Rescue. With 106 licensed acute-care beds our accredited non-profit hospital has been providing exceptional care for more than 35 years. Mercy Hospital of Folsom provides surgical services including minimally-invasive general urological and gynecological surgeries. We also provide comprehensive and award-winning orthopedic services which include surgery inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and specialty orthopedic care. As a certified Joint Commission Stroke Center Mercy Folsom provides exceptional care to our patients in our Medical Surgical and Intensive Care units as well as our 25-bed Emergency Department. Our Family Birth Center features private and contemporary birthing suites where labor delivery and recovery occur in one room as well as award-winning lactation training and support. The incumbent will perform pre-analytic analytic and in some cases post-analytic laboratory duties such as chemical microscopic and/or bacteriologic tests and verifies results for use in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Demonstrates competency in patient testing for neonate pediatric adult and geriatric patients. May have access to medication storage areas in accordance with their job functions and hospital policy or be required to distribute needles or syringes from storage locations such as large stock supplies automated dispensing units and other carts to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure. This responsibility is to be carried out in the manner consistent with the Mission and Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Internship in a hospital clinical laboratory.

  • Valid California CLS license

  • Bachelor degree in biological science, or US military equivalent.

  • 1 year Demonstrated knowledge of modern clinical laboratory techniques and procedures aseptic technique and proper safe technique in the handling of hazardous materials and biological specimens.

  • Ability to trouble-shoot procedures and instrumentation and problem-solve effectively.

Pay Range

$61.92 - $71.75 /hour
