This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies is seeking a Data Strategy Advisor to support our customer, the USAFE Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Data Officer (CDO) who develop technical strategies for the Chief of Staff (CoS), DCOM, COM and senior United States Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) leadership. The CTO/CDO serve as the CoS’s technical authority and senior professional communications advisor and consultant and supports the 4-star USAFE-AFAFRICA Commander in his duties as lead integrator for the command.Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as senior data advisor and consultant to the USAFE CTO/CDO, command leadership, and HQ staff.

  • Serve as a primary technology point of contact, responsible for technical guidance and overarching technical oversight, data governance, and architectural alignment, including technical leadership and mentoring.

  • Develops, maintains, oversees execution, and tracks the progress of mission-driven command-level enterprise data strategies.

  • Identify and prioritize critical business functions in collaboration with organizational stakeholders.

  • Develop innovative solutions to complex problems and complex mission needs and design architecture to align with existing technologies and networks.

  • Implements data vision and mission; drive significant savings and return on investment through the transformation of USAFE-AFAFRICA (U-A) IT and data governance management activities.

  • Define and document how the implementation of a new system or new interfaces between systems impacts the security posture of the current environment.

  • Supports U-A CoS, COO, CDO, CTO, and CIO at meetings, conferences, and senior-level forums as an expert consultant and advisor on technology and data management issues/matters

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15 years of relevant data or technology management experience with a bachelor’s degree or higher in (systems) engineering, computer science, or related technical degree; 13 years of relevant experience with a Masters in a related field; 10 years of relevant experience with a PhD in a related field.

  • Operational IT and data experience a must; must understand how technology and data management supports OPs, Intel, and/or other functional domains.

  • Extensive knowledge of data architecture or governance principles and best practices

  • Clearance- Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI

Preferred Requirements

  • Enterprise Architect Certificate, FEAC Certification, and/or PMP certification are highly desired

  • DoD CIO Certification (or similar) is highly desired.

  • Experience developing and integrating data technologies into an architecture supporting organizational strategies

  • Experienced in strategy to task development/execution, enterprise architecture, and project management experience; a mixture of managing IT, and new/advanced tech with other projects. Able to understand the big picture and apply it at the tactical level.

  • Ability to architect solutions to accommodate complex mission needs and design architecture to align technologies with network, security, and policy in a variety of environmental conditions.
