For more than 90 years industry leaders, the military, airlines and firefighters have relied on Kidde to deliver superior fire detection and suppression. Consumers will find that same advanced fire safety technology in Kidde's residential and commercial smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers and other life safety products.

We are looking for an experienced District Sales Manager to join the Kidde team. This is an individual contributor sales position managing key accounts across the Electrical, Industrial and Fire Equipment verticals. The selected candidate will be responsible for day-to-day execution of the overall strategy, while working with customers to grow awareness of each of our brands and ultimately overall sales. The overall goal is to build and maintain strong long-term relationships to achieve business goals while maintaining Kidde as the Industry leader in detection and suppression products.

In this position, you will be accountable for:

  • Responsible for delivering established sale targets through strategic planning and execution.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing monthly sales forecasts and providing monthly business review to Director of Sales in relation to overall plan performance.

  • An ability to discuss sales and business issues, negotiate, and resolve conflict is critical.

  • Develop cross-functional relationships to improve sales and overall customer satisfaction.

  • Develop and Execute Strategy, including but not limited to the following:

  • Annual Creation & Negotiation of national account joint investment agreements intended to drive Kidde sales and overall customer growth ahead of market. Programs should align customers marketing/sales focus with Kidde Corporate strategies (EX: Legislation, NPI’s etc.)

  • Establish minimum quarterly benchmarks to ensure the success of the territory.

  • Convey significant industry and customer developments to management.

  • Engaging with national and regional customer events, attendance at trade shows and taking a leading role in industry network events and shows, as needed.

  • Be prepared to provide summary of both Strategy and progress in formal form for use by senior management on forecast demand.

  • To be an advocate for Kidde within the territory.

  • Overnight domestic travel of up to 40% may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma with 5+ years of sales experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in key distribution or manufacturing account management.

  • 3+ years of experience creating, managing & implementing strategic sales plans.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Ability to work with customers to develop mutually beneficial goals, meet quota, document, communicate & execute sales strategies for the assigned territory.

  • Experience creating, managing & implementing strategic sales plans.

  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills, along with the skill set to present product solutions to customer base.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Able to work in a Direct & Matrixed Team selling environment, as well as influence cross functional teams to achieve goals.

  • Familiarity with sales planning and forecasting.

  • Product knowledge and application experience in Detection and Suppression products.

  • Willingness to challenge conventional thinking in pursuit of innovative approach to solution selling.

  • Strong ability to handle difficult customer discussions while retaining ongoing business relationship.

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish.
