Atlantic Health System Medical Transportation Coordinator - Hunterdon Medical Center in NJ, United States

Responsible for planning, arranging, and coordinating ambulatory transportation across all programs. Meets with patient or families to answer questions regarding transport or payment. Meets with hospital's senior leadership to discuss and improvise the discharge processes.

Primarily based out if the Hunterdon Medical Center facility in Flemington, NJ

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Projects vehicle utilization. Creates modifies and evaluates schedule efficiency & effectiveness to assure highest level of utilization & customer service in collaboration with managers of ambulance & EMT division. Regularly reports vehicle utilization volume on time performance and other measures.

  • Oversees EMT/RN assuring staff is properly attired & compliant with uniform & appearance standards. Orients new staff to department policies procedures & dispatch functions.

  • Attend daily bed meeting/unit rounds working closely with case managers and social workers to assist in facilitating smooth and timely patient discharges. In the event of an issue to serve as first point of contact even after hours.

  • Work with other Coordinators to accommodate customers’ needs and address complaints. Conduct customer calls for feedback, monitor staff’s customer services skills to assure appropriate interface and service.

  • Regularly audits computer data to assure appropriate data is collected & input by staff records are complete. Counsel staff for compliance correction & improvement. Generates and evaluates regular on-demand & new reports on vehicle schedule on time & dispatch performance vehicle utilization outsourcing.

  • Customer service development & recovery in accordance with company’s strategic business plan to identify new service offerings/expansion for current customers.

  • Seek ways to improve performance as required and in response to customer’s feedback, implement specific service recovery actions for customers/patients when service gaps have occurred.

  • Provide regular reports on activities and occurrences to management and director.

  • Communicate federal/regulatory changes affecting service delivery impacting services received by or covered for patients/other customers; communicate changes in organizational model services or processes that impact these patients/customers.

  • Conducts regular scheduled formal in-services for CM/SW and other appropriate audiences on federal/state regulatory changes impacting services.

  • Work collaboratively with communications center coordinator regarding customer service needs and company performance, work with other sales representative as needed to recommend service improvement/changes or new program initiatives.

  • Provide rate quotes for customers/patients; work with billing department to assist in any billing complaints and/or issues.

  • Meet with hospital’s senior leadership weekly/monthly to discuss AAC performances as well as utilizing AAC to expedite overall discharge process.

  • Obtain missing CMN’s for the billing department. Obtain pre-authorization for repetitive patients.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma/GED/ equivalent required

Bachelors degree preferred

EMT Preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

MS Office proficiency preferred

Excellent communication and trouble shooting skills preferred

Knowledge of Right CAD and various insurance qualifications preferred
