JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

We are looking for an adaptable actuary to assist in pricing Molina Marketplace ACA Individual Products. The right candidate should be comfortable working on a product with changing rules and a competitive landscape. You will help analyze market trends, develop basic models, and provide insights to support decision-making. Additional responsibilities may include financial forecasting, supporting network development, and developing product strategy.

Job Duties

  • Develop Individual ACA rates, prepare and sign rate filings, and respond to regulator objections

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of ACA risk adjustment concepts

  • Monitor financial projections and adapt models to reflect emerging trends and market changes

  • Exhibit curiosity and the ability to adapt and understand market trends and changes

  • Communication of complex quantitative concepts and recommendations clearly and concisely to stakeholders.

  • Mentor and train other actuarial staff

  • Additional knowledge and skills may include:

  • Design and evaluate plan offerings

  • Evaluate competitors and market conditions

  • Support the monthly financial forecasting process by assessing appropriate methodologies, making necessary adjustments, and thoroughly reviewing results for reasonableness

  • Assist with the monthly accounting accruals process to estimate and book MLR rebates

  • Evaluate impact of provider contracting changes

  • Review and design SQL databases and queries to support analytical studies

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Minimum 6 years of experience in addition to leadership experience

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, ASSOCIATION:

Must have passed at least 4 actuarial exams.

PREFERRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, ASSOCIATION:

Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Member of the American Academy of Actuaries
