JOB SUMMARY:

The Janitor performs general plant custodial duties and grounds maintenance. This position will pack cones to cover lunch breaks and other relief of packers as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform general janitorial and clean up tasks as listed on the daily clean up sheets for each shift
  • Record completed tasks and document other issues as necessary
  • Follow proper handling procedures for cleaning and other chemicals as trained
  • Operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, steamers, and industrial vacuums
  • Refill syrup dispensers and change pans
  • Clean snow from entrances and sidewalks as necessary
  • Follow proper procedures for cleaning of biohazard spills/accidents
  • Identify areas that need attention and either address or report as necessary
  • Perform related duties as required by supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing effectively
  • Able to legibly and accurately record information
  • Good understanding of and strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Policies (GMP)
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 75 pounds, bend, stoop, climb, reach and regularly use stairs
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds above shoulder height.
  • Job involves bending, turning, twisting, use of hands and rotation of wrists
  • Ability to stand on feet 12 hours per day
  • Must be able to pack between 10 and 12 cases per hour.
  • Must be able to distinguish and sort by color.
  • Identify areas that need attention and either address or report as necessary.
  • Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, including expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences.
