About the Position

The College of Health and Human Services invites applications for a Assistant Professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, College of Health and Human Services at Northern Arizona University - Phoenix Bioscience Core (PBC). This is a full-time (12-month) position beginning July 1, 2024.

The Department of Physician Assistant Studies is located at the Phoenix Bioscience Core (PBC), a 30-acre biomedical and health science district in downtown Phoenix, Arizona.

Position Description

Faculty serve as lead instructor fo didactic and clinical coursework, advise students and serve as chair for capstone experiences, develop scholarly and research projects, and provide service to the institution and professional community. All faculty engage in work to assess and enhance the student experience, including recruitment, admissions, advising, and program evaluation.

The successful applicant will join a diverse faculty that is committed to inclusive excellence. As such, we are committed to providing equitable, high impact learning opportunities and to embracing the cultural and linguistic diversity of our region.

Responsibilities Include:

Teaching

  • Serve as Instructor of Record for coursework; as small group facilitator;
  • Mentor students in capstone course;
  • Facilitate supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPEs)

Scholarly and Creative Projects and/or Service

  • Opportunities for service include:
    • Serve on program, department, college and university committees;
    • Clinical practice;
    • Represent the program on professional organizations, state boards, etc.

This is a 12 month non-tenure position.
