The University of Findlay CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR in Findlay, Ohio

The University of Findlay (www.findlay.edu{rel="nofollow"}) is seeking a full-time clinical mental health counselor,  responsible to provide quality mental health services to a college student population through individual, couple, and group counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation, including ethical/legal documentation, treatment planning, and diagnostic assessments as appropriate. This position will also be responsible for assisting with outreach education and prevention efforts to the UF community.

This is a full-time 10-month position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position will necessitate occasional evening, weekend, and limited summer hours.

 

A master's degree in a mental health profession (i.e., counseling, clinical/counseling psychology, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy) from accredited graduate program, with a minimum two years of post-graduate experience as a mental health professional, preferably in a college/university setting, is required.  The candidate must be licensed or license-eligible to independently practice as mental health professional in the state of Ohio. Preference given to candidates possessing experience with mental health services in a college or university counseling center and a passion for working with college students; knowledge of and experience providing a broad range of psychotherapy and counseling methods within a time-limited scope of service; clinical training/ skills in evidenced-based short-term modalities; excellent crisis intervention skills; excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills; and the ability to be relevant and creative with outreach efforts.

 

Candidates must possess a collaborative spirit, be enthusiastic about service-delivery to college student population and be team oriented. The University Counseling Services is an integral part of a strong and cooperative division of Student Affairs.
