Job Overview

The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician supports the overall Food Safety Plan through monitoring, record/product review and inspections.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct sample request collection
  • Collect information for supplier deficiencies and complete system entry
  • Conduct product & material trace including customer COAs
  • Coordinate paperwork retention program
  • Assist with incoming goods evaluation including ingredient COAs
  • Coordinate the finished goods inspection plan
  • Assist with hold product inspections
  • Assist with inspection of product returns
  • Coordinate and monitor inventory of laboratory supplies
  • Assist with sensory evaluation program
  • All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by plant FSQA leadership.
  • Maintain company confidentiality.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Degree
  • Ability to complete tasks based on standard procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work cross-functionally
  • Basic Computer skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work in the US without corporate sponsorship.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in Food Science or related field
  • SAP experience.
  • HACCP Certification.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a lab setting.

Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.

Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35F to 100F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.

Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
