Maritz Benefits Supervisor in Fenton, Missouri

This role will supervise 2 members of the Benefits department in the areas of compliance, leave of absences, and wellness program administration. This role will also lead new initiatives and projects as needed.

Please Note: This is a hybrid role on our Fenton, MO campus that is in the office Tuesday - Thursday.

Primary Responsibilities

40% - Leave: Takes a lead role to coordinate and support complex leave issues. Leads the Benefits Coordinator(s) on escalated issues to provide guidance and ensure compliance on all leaves of absence and reasonable accommodation process, including Short and Long-Term Disability programs, state leaves, Paid Parental and Caregiver leave, and FMLA. Also oversees Worker’s Compensation claims and OSHA reporting.

30% - Compliance: Works closely with the Benefits team to ensure compliance for all required benefits and leave laws by researching laws and providing recommended actions.

30% - Wellness Program: Leads the Wellness Specialist to administer the company’s wellness program, including wellness incentive earning opportunities, and serves as a backup to this role.

Provide project management support on new initiatives and provide support to other members of the Benefits department as a backup to the Sr. Manager – Health & Retirement Benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in benefits including compliance laws and regulations.

  • Must have experience focused on leaves of absence, coordination with state leave laws, reasonable accommodations and worker’s compensation.

  • Experience serving in a supervisory role providing guidance and support to other teammates.

  • Desire to learn and take on additional leadership opportunities required.

  • Excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills. Must be able to write professional communications to employees dealing with sensitive issues.

  • Ability to handle details on multiple programs simultaneously.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
