Currently, we are looking for an Intern, Customer Solutions to join the ArcBest team. The Intern, Customer Solutions manages a variety of shipments and addresses customer concerns. This position requires superior customer service skills as well as efficient utilization of resources including effective customer, service center, and field communication to make decisions that resolve urgent transportation-related scenarios. The Intern, Customer Solutions can expect to learn the best practices in key-account management and will assist in meeting the needs of enterprise-level ArcBest customers. This position will also interact with various ArcBest departments.

Your contribution may include:

  • Provide accurate information regarding multiple services and solutions offered by ArcBest.

  • Handle a large volume of interactions through multiple channels including phone, email, and chat.

  • Provide tracking updates and communicate delivery modifications.

  • Maintain effective lines of communication with internal and external customers.

  • Use multiple systems and programs in support of customer needs and expectations.

  • Identify customer requirements to generate quotes tailored to their shipping needs.

  • Schedule pickup requests and submit rate corrections.

  • Create bills of lading (BOL's) and provide shipment-specific documentation.

  • Work alongside Enterprise Account Managers (EAMs) and Associate EAMs to manage the needs of customers.

  • Assist in business analysis for key customers.

  • Collaborate on special projects, as needed.

  • Learn the pricing strategy for various service lines and provide rate quotations.

  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As an Intern, Customer Solutions, you will be a member of the ArcBest Customer Solutions team. This is a part-time position that will average fewer than 30 hours per week. Work hours generally fall between 6:00 am - 8:00 pm around school hours with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.

Education: Pursuing bachelor's degree, required.

Experience: No prior experience necessary.

Computer Skills: Proficient understanding of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, required.

Other Requirements: Enrollment in Walton School of Business, University of Arkansas, preferred.
