Job Summary

As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering function within our organization. This includes strategic planning, program development, reviewing design recommendations, procuring equipment, and ensuring that engineering activities are aligned with the company's objectives. Your role will involve providing technical guidance, implementing effective engineering methods, and leading a team of engineers to drive innovation and efficiency.

Job Duties Lead and manage the engineering department, including setting strategic goals, priorities, and budget allocations. Develop and implement engineering programs and initiatives to support MacLean-Fogg's business objectives. Review and approve design recommendations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Collaborate with other departments, such as manufacturing, quality, and product development, to optimize processes and drive operational excellence. Oversee the procurement of equipment and resources necessary for engineering projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Monitor and evaluate engineering performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed. Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements, integrating new technologies into MacLean-Fogg's engineering processes. Foster a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and quality excellence within the engineering department. Represent MacLean-Fogg in external engagements, such as industry conferences and client meetings, showcasing our engineering capabilities and expertise.

Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibilities. Previous experience in a leadership or management role within an engineering organization. Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, with expertise in areas relevant to MacLean-Fogg's operations (e.g., automotive, aerospace, industrial components). Proven track record of successfully leading engineering projects from conception to completion, delivering results on time and within budget. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
