Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Communication SystemsJob Description

Engineering organization is hiring an Electrical Engineer with a communication systems background that reports into Senior Director of Electrical Engineering in our Farmington, Connecticut Lead Design Center (LDC). In this role, you will be involved in designing, validating, and solving complex technical challenges related to electrical and communication systems used worldwide in elevators. As a part of our electrical engineering team, you will get hands-on exposure to our control systems, sensors, drives, and communication platforms. In this high-impact role, you will have access to an engineering organization with a diverse skill set and extensive domain expertise, internal labs with extensive capabilities, and continuous learning and development opportunities. On a typical day you will: - Develop system/component level requirements and generate electrical design concepts and/or communication system designs. - Design and analyze analog and digital circuit assemblies. - Lead component and system level DFMEAs. - Perform environmental and functional qualifications tests on hardware. - Work with compliance agencies to prepare compliance test plans and documentation. - Coordinate with suppliers and electronic manufacturing partners to bring a design into a production environment. - Work individually and across a matrixed team environment.

Hard Skills

  • Ethernet layout/design experience

  • 3-5 years relevant experience with Network/Communications Engineering

  • Degree in Electronics, Network, Computer Science, etc.

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Farmington, Connecticut and some days remote.

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule in Farmington design center. Will be reporting to the Senior Director and working with the electrical team, but also partnering with the chief engineers, dispatching engineering, and software engineers in Connecticut. They also have a team in China responsible for human interface with whom this person will be interacting/partnering.
