Position: Service Technician Location: Faribault, MN Job Id: 860 # of Openings: 1 Position Description ABC Companies' nine (9) world-class facilities routinely deliver service excellence and feature the latest diagnostic tools and state-of-the-art fabrication systems designed to cover a comprehensive range of transit bus, motorcoach and RV service and repair. In addition to a full line of diesel and gas commercial vehicle products ranging from vans to luxury buses, ABC is also a leader in fully electric commercial vehicles. Job Title: Service Tech/Mechanic (MN location) Reports to: Service Shop Lead Scope: Depending on experience, this position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial vehicles. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, and maintains motorcoaches, commercial and non-commercial vehicles, and other vehicles or machines as directed. Maintains a safe and clean work environment, free from hazards and unnecessary noise which could lead to distractions from the work at hand. Understands and adheres to all company safety policies and procedures Maintains compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations applicable to operations, buildings, grounds, and personnel including but not limited to EPA, OSHA, and DOT. Specific duties and responsibilities will change as the company adapts to future trends in the business, but include the requirement to clearly document all repairs made on work orders using shop computers and associated software. Must accurately maintain and track time and attendance. Must work to expand knowledge and skill levels needed to perform maintenance and repairs effectively and efficiently on both customer and internal vehicles. Ability to demonstrate maturity and self-respect while always upholding ABC's core values. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), 5 years' experience as a gas or diesel technician in a diesel truck or bus service facility or dealership. Requires good organizational skills to include the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and complete assignments within expected time frames Must possess the tools necessary to complete assigned responsibilities Experience with Interior Component repair/replacement Audio/Video knowledge recommended not required Skills: Must be a self-starter and always possess a positive attitude Must have a good attendance Willingness to travel a plus, with possible work on the weekends/overtime required. Must be able to perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities Must be willing to teach/mentor other techs with your personal strengths Must be able to identify parts needed to effect repairs on vehicles being worked on EPA certified in refrigerant a plus Physical Demands: Ability to move items weighing at least 50 pounds The person in this position needs to move constantly for extended periods of time (80-100% of shift) This job description is subject to change at any time.
