WestRock Company Production Scheduler in Fargo, North Dakota

Opportunity summary: As a Production Scheduler in Fargo, ND, you are responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day activities surrounding customer orders to ensure customer deadlines are met and maximum operational efficiency is achieved. This role is responsible for coordinating production operations, ensuring on time delivery of products, monitoring customer orders, communicating orders to the production floor, and coordinating with 3rd Party Logistics Companies to ensure on-time delivery of customer products.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Create production schedules that ensure continuous plant operations and prevent plant downtime to minimize profit losses.

  • Identify and resolve any inventory issues caused by deviations in orders to enable continuous operations at the plant.

  • Ensure waste numbers are minimized by creating smooth and seamless production scheduling for each department in the plant.

  • Serve as a liaison between the production department and sales department to communicate customer needs and current production abilities.

  • Review prior day reports to ensure orders were successfully delivered by carriers and received by customers.

  • Communicate production schedules out to the production floor based on customer orders and upcoming deadlines.

  • Communicate cross-functionally with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), Sales Managers, Supply Chain Managers, Production Managers, and Mill Managers to facilitate information sharing regarding machine breakdowns, late shipments, expedited orders and modify daily production plans to accommodate new information.

  • Partner with 3rd Party Logistics Companies to coordinate dock times for receipt of inventory from production plant and receipt by customer.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.

  • At least one year of experience in the corrugated industry preferred.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.

  • Proven experience with order entry systems.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills to ensure achievement of desired results.

  • Ability to respond quickly to changing demands, processes, and updated information.

  • Proven ability to identify and analyze problems while generating and evaluating alternative solutions.

  • Maintain high attention to detail to recognize errors and complete work with thoroughness.
