John Deere Fargo: PV&V Technician II

As a PV&V Technician II with John Deere Electronic Solutions in Fargo, ND, you will:

Perform electrical/mechanical testing, design validation, and verification of electronic or electro-mechanical equipment and products in an environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:

  • Perform intermediate validation testing on prototypes and existing products.

  • Work with Engineering to understand and apply defined test requirements.

  • Troubleshoot defective lab equipment and provide required maintenance as needed.

  • Build intermediate test harnesses, loads, and circuit boards to support product verification as required.

  • Document and maintain records relating to work performed.

  • Inform supervisor of process, test, or design problems and assist in the corrective action.

  • Assemble (mechanical/electrical) fixtures and test setups as required. This will require performing intermediate design functions.

  • Perform inspection, test, and failure analysis as necessary to determine cause of defective tests or assemblies.

  • Conduct functional test of electronic circuits and PCBs according to engineering instructions.

  • Create test documentation when required for prototype products if engineering instructions are not available.

  • Design basic engineering test boxes.

  • Communicate in a professional and effective manner.

  • Perform other associated tasks as required.

  • Assist and support other team members and work with minimal supervision.

  • Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.

Shift Details: This is for a 1 st shift position (8:00 am – 4:00 pm).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must have at least one of the following:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)

  • At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience

  • A.S. in Electronics, a two-year technical diploma, or equivalent military certification, or equivalent work experience.

  • At least one year of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering; including:

  • Experience and understanding of test equipment and methods (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting to identify root cause.

  • Experience reading and utilizing technical schematics, drawings, and/or datasheets.

  • Experience with computers and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

  • Ability and willingness to work 1st shift and potential overtime (including weekends).
