Role Summary

As a Programme Manager at Parker Meggitt, you’ll be ready and willing to roll your sleeves up and will manage the assigned programme(s) across all phases of the programme lifecycle (PLM), in order to deliver the corresponding business case(s) as approved or better in accordance with company rules.

You’ll participate in improving the methods and tools of the Programmes Department, develop an annual budget and operating plan to support the programmes(s) and continue to regularly monitor business case KPIs, such as NPV, IRR and cash flow projections.

Core Responsibilities

  • Planning the delivery of the overall programme(s) and associated activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organisation, by establishing and maintaining the programme charter(s)

  • Developing and implementing long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the programme(s)

  • Ensuring all staff members are trained appropriately on the Meggitt PLM process

  • Supervising programme staff by providing direction, input and feedback

  • Delivering the programme(s) status reports in accordance with the PLM, programme(s) charter(s) and departmental reporting process

  • Monitoring and approving all budgeted program expenditures, whilst ensuring that the programme(s) operate within the approved budget

  • Identifying and evaluating the risks and opportunities associated with programme(s) activities and taking appropriate action

  • Ensuring return on investment

    Skills, Knowledge & Abilitie s

    Essential:

  • Significant experience of working within the Manufacturing industry

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Solid experience of managing programme financials, business cases and contracts

  • Knowledge of PMBOK, Risk & Opportunity Management, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma techniques, Earned Value (EVMS)

  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment

  • Well organised with excellent written and verbal skills

  • Self-motivated with problem solving and strong decision making skills

    Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • A strong background in project management methodology
