Town of Falmouth Assistant Human Resources Director in Falmouth, Massachusetts

The Town of Falmouth seeks a people-oriented professional with excellent attention to detail and customer service to serve as our Assistant Human Resources Director. The ideal candidate has a strong background in municipal wage, compensation, and benefits administration and is passionate about assisting the Human Resources Director in enhancing the department?s operations to best serve our approximately 600 full-time, part-time, per diem, on-call, and seasonal employees. The Assistant Director assists the Director with the development, oversight, and maintenance of the Town?s comprehensive human resources functions and programs, with an emphasis on wage, compensation, and benefits administration. The Assistant Human Resources Director also assists with the supervision of two full-time employees. This position ensures the payroll accuracy of employee pay, benefits, and contractual provisions, reconciles payroll liability accounts, and coordinates the implementation of labor agreements and employee contracts. The Assistant Director also develops procedures, resolves problems, and prepares and processes complex forms, correspondence, and reports. This position also assists and advises employees, managers, vendors, applicants, or others regarding human resource functions and services. The Assistant Director will play a pivotal role in the implementation of our new integrated HRIS. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in human resource management, public administration, business, or related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional human resources experience, preferably in municipal government; or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Supervisory experience is preferred and municipal experience is strongly preferred. Applicants must be able to maintain confidential and privileged employee and collective bargaining information and must possess and maintain a Class D Massachusetts motor vehicle operator?s license. Applicants must also be able to successfully pass a C.O.R.I. background check. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and technology skills and excellent attention to detail and customer service skills. Applicants must have the ability to effectively work and interact with individuals and groups of various abilities, cultures, backgrounds, and identities. Salary: Anticipated starting range of \$86,756.80 to \$92,768.00, DOQ, with comprehensive benefits. How to Apply: All applicants must complete an online application here.
