  • Provide appropriate therapeutic procedures and provide a full range of therapy services in support of patient referrals from the following specialties: Orthopedics, General Medicine and Surgery, Primary Care Clinic, Rheumatology and others as approved by Department Head/Division Officer.
  • Provide for safe and timely patient care. Develop realistic and documented treatment goals that comply with and satisfy the intent of the referring medical staff.
  • Administer treatments involving application of physical agents, using equipment such as game ready, blood flow restriction units, mechanical traction, electrical stimulation and ultrasound machines. Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. Evaluate, fit, and adjust the patient's prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modification as required.
  • Provide documented treatment and discharge recommendations to members of the staff in routine, emergency, and special cases as needed.
  • Provide clinical direction to assistants, technicians, aides, students, etc.
  • Provide input and attend rehabilitation team meetings, seminars, and quality assurance meetings.
  • Participate in peer review activities.
  • HCWs assigned to Pain Management Dept. shall perform the following additional duties:
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team with other health care providers providing consultative services pursuant to optimal health care delivery to patients suffering from pain.
  • Participate in an on-site designated Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) tele-mentoring training program.
  • Participate in tele-mentoring, tele-medicine and tele-consults.
  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation personnel will also perform clerical and scheduling duties in support of patient care and clinic operations and other related administrative duties as assigned.

[Minimum Qualifications: ]{new="" roman="" times=""}

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (preferred) OR Master's degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2016 OR Baccalaureate degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002.

[Provide proof of professional development through continuing education within the last twenty-four (24) months. Possess a minimum of one (1) year experience as an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist within the preceding two (2) years OR have graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy program within the preceding year. Provide two letters of recommendation written within the preceding two (2) years attesting to the HCWs clinical skills. At least one (1) letter must be from a physical therapist who has personally observed and evaluated the HCW and who can attest to the HCW's clinical skills in the care of patients.
