Scope of Position:

The Master Production Scheduler position is a key role within the Corning Fairport Supply Chain. An enthusiastic self-starter with a strong drive to improve existing processes and systems is highly desired. The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for creating, managing and maintaining an integrated master production schedule that satisfies customer demand while level loading work to manufacturing.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Plan component material supply from external supply base, optical fabrication, coating and mechanical fabrication manufacturing departments.

  • Develop an executable master production schedule for Manufacturing, which balances customer service, material availability, plant capacities and targeted inventory levels.

  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with Operations, Logistics, Planning, Procurement and Customer Service to confirm production / shipping schedules and monitor open orders to ensure on-time deliveries.

  • Proactively report product and material availability issues.

  • Participate and contribute to monthly S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process.

  • Daily coordination with Operations team to set production priorities.

  • Creation and date sequencing of production orders.

  • Participate in review of discrepant material and scrap, as required.

  • Ability to test, coordinate and implement an MRP system scheduling tool.

  • Establish priorities for specific customer orders and revise schedules according to customer requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS is required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or similar discipline

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing and/or Supply Chain planning experience

  • Independent worker who is able to troubleshoot and find appropriate resources for timely resolution.

  • Strong demonstrated understanding of MRP and inventory management systems

  • Strong knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and processes (supply, demand, capacity and distribution planning and inventory management)

  • Demonstrate extreme ownership with inventory management

  • Work closely with procurement and other teams to resolve supplier schedule, quality, and engineering issues

  • Strong interpersonal, communication (oral & written) and leadership skills

  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills

  • Customer focused, detailed oriented and effective problem solver

  • Able to work in a team environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP S4 HANA

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment coordinating multi-discipline activities

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities

  • APICS CPIM / CSCP certification or certification in progress preferable

The range for this position is $68,583.00 - $94,302.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
