Goodwill Industries of the Gulf Coast Sales Floor Associate - Spanish Fort in Fairhope, Alabama

Mission Contribution: Supporting our mission services through effective supervision of dressing room areas and maintenance of sales floor cleanliness.

Function: The primary function of this role is to supervise the dressing room areas, ensuring they are clean, organized, and efficiently operated, in addition to maintaining cleanliness across the sales floor throughout the day.

Essential Functions:

  1. Supervise and manage the dressing room area, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  2. Greet customers within 10 seconds, providing friendly service and information, especially related to dressing room use and policies.
  3. Conduct regular checks and clean dressing rooms throughout the day.
  4. Assist in keeping the sales floor clean, tidy, and well-organized, including daily cleaning tasks and prompt addressing of any spills or debris.
  5. Support the sales team in displaying merchandise and ensuring a pleasant shopping environment.
  6. Assist Customers with free medical equipment forms and keeping medical equipment stocked.
  7. Work closely with other staff members to facilitate a smooth operation between the dressing room areas and the sales floor.
  8. Implement and adhere to company policies and procedures related to dressing room management and sales floor maintenance.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by management to support store operations.
  10. Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Skills, knowledge and abilities: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job).

  1. Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
  2. Strong organizational skills with a focus on detail and cleanliness.
  3. Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
  4. Must be able to take initiative and work well with little supervision.
  5. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Experience and Education Requirements:

- - High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required. - Prior work experience in the service industry preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to engage in frequent bending, stretching, stooping, and prolonged standing, walking and twisting.

Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. with assistance occasionally.

Ability to push equipment on wheels weighing 50 lbs. to 150 lbs.

Ability to use fingers, hands and wrists, repetitively, while hanging and sorting
