Standex Electronics Inc. Electrical Product Engineer in Fairfield, Ohio

What You Will Do As a key member of the sensors, switches and relays product engineering team in North America the Electrical Product Engineer will focus on electronic design and development of magnetic sensors including sensor and circuit board design, and tooling specification to support new and sustaining engineering efforts. Sensors include onboard electronics designed to meet the needs of customer control systems, custom firmware and signal conditioning, and magnetic field calibration. Additional functions include project management, failure mode analysis, and coordinating with manufacturing sites around the globe. Most products are developed around Reed Switch and Hall Effect technologies implemented to meet the specific requirements of applications. This position will be an influential technical leader in the business, developing new products to meet the needs of customers in a broad array of industries. The position reports to the SST Engineering Manager in Fairfield, OH. Design electronic sensor components and finished assemblies, including PCB and electrical circuits in support of new product development, and sustaining engineering product efforts. Build product specific expertise and contribute to new and existing product lines. Scope projects and plan resources needed for development of customer designed products. Collaborate with suppliers and Standex teams to design products for optimized manufacturability. Technical interface to both the Development Group (Customer) and the Production Group to provide optimized technical solutions - Transform customer specifications into cost efficient manufacturing specifications. Define new processes and systems to transform group capabilities and launch new products. Intuitively, lead projects from inception. Freely work with cross functional resources and all sites. Communicate and coordinate prototyping with outsourcing vendors when applicable. Design for compliance with any agency, internal or external (customer) requirements. Conform to Organization's ISO and TS requirements as well as the Company's overall quality standards and manufacturing policies. What You Will Bring BS in Electrical Engineering 4-6 years working in design and manufacturing with a background of exposure to cost avoidance and lean activities/principles 1+ year experience working with cross-functional teams What We Value Manufacturing engineering experience with knowledge of automated assembly processes, testing and tooling experience Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Proven ability to read and interpret customer specifications and industry standards. Self-starter and able to work without day-to-day direction. Project management skills with proven ability to plan, monitor, and control a project from start to finish ensuring everyone meets their deadlines Solid interpersonal and teamwork skills; yet, able to perceive needs and work independently Ability to analyze and solve problems with data driven approach and root cause analysis skill Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and electrical drawings.
