The opportunity

Performs Supply Chain, Master Data, and Logistics functions, such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution, and Warehousing. Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers. Responsibilities are within the Supply Chain and Logistics Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Utilizing the ERP finite scheduler to maintain system dates in ERP

  • Ability to work with internal supervisors/managers and support departments to accurately schedule the business needs, with inputs/recommendations to be reflected in the finite schedule

  • Identify and escalate issues to the SC Head that may impact the weekly commitments that cannot be resolved in this horizon

  • Convert firm planned orders into discrete orders and utilize the ERP scheduling tool to ensure schedules within the 4-5 week horizon are realistic and achievable

  • Ensure jobs are issued with the proper documentation in line with the desired formulas and routing as defined within ERP system

  • Load all jobs into the weekly RTE file and distribute to pertinent departments

  • Track RTE metrics, and highlight and manage RTE action items

  • Communicate material and document requirements to supporting departments to ensure priorities are established in other departments to support the MPS in the firm zones

  • Plan accordingly the required “planned” downtime due to PMs, Engineering and other requirements. Communicate the start dates to impacted departments

  • Develop electronic draft weekly schedules from the ERP scheduler for the weekly Tier meetings

  • Work with Production Supervisors to ensure the required production documents and materials are available and will be delivered within the requested timeframe

  • Support by attending the manufacturing/packing shop floor meetings (Lean, Tier)

  • Published the weekly KPIs for the site for Tier meetings

  • Support the root cause/corrective actions of all underlying scheduling misses

  • If requested, develop information as required by the S&OP process

  • Ensuring that all required ERP reports are completed by the Production Coordination

  • Back up SC Head with such duties as:

  • Develop, issue and publish the detailed finite schedule in the ERP scheduler using end to end sequencing to ensure the release of Finished Goods

  • Manage the frozen/firm zone to ensure that the delivery of the bulk/finished goods are aligned with defined due dates

  • Establish achievable production schedules as specified in the routings and available head counts.

Your experience and qualifications

Education Required: College Diploma or University degree in Science, Business, Engineering or Supply Chain

Education Preferred: CPIM is preferred.

Experience Required: 3+ years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical industry preferred).

Experience Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of how to build finite schedules in Manufacturing, Packaging and supporting areas.

  • Solid understanding of S&OP and GMP processes

  • Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed: Experience working in a production plant.

  • Functional Knowledge: ERP systems, MS Office package
