Description Robert Half is working with a company in the Manufacturing field to find a Payroll Administrator who can process payroll and use Microsoft Office applications. This opportunity ensures you will be part of a dynamic team for career growth. The Payroll Administrator position is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity based out of Fairfield, New Jersey.
What you get to do every day
Report needed changes after maintaining payroll operations according to established policies and procedures
Manage issues related to employee deductions and other liabilities, including reconciling
Offer proper review and verification of source documents
Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, ensure company compliance
Manage other tasks as assigned
Handle payroll record updates by keeping changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
Ensure employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and confidential information
Handle all payroll information questions and requests
Handle payroll discrepancies through information collection and analysis
Help payroll manage all internal and external audits
Draft reports by organizing all summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
Prepare for department heads relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
Collect, calculate, and enter relevant data to maintain payroll records
Detail all payroll liabilities by establishing employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payment Requirements - Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
2+ years of strong payroll experience
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
Comprehensive knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
Strong familiarity with Process Biweekly Payroll
Multistate Payroll experience
Knowledge of ADP - Payroll
Excellent data entry skills
Experienced in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Certified Payroll Professional will be given preference
Understanding of internal controls
Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
Prior experience working with accounting software
