Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

Sample preparation and analysis following published test methods and company/client SOPs.

Specifically These Responsibilities Are To:

  • Organize test samples including seat belts and child restraint systems
  • Prepare test specimens from the samples submitted using hand tools and power tools
  • Perform both destructive and non-destructive physical testing on products including webbing, hardware, buckles and retractors
  • Record test results in the format specified which includes handwritten datasheets, computer printouts and electronic data entry
  • Routine operation, maintenance, and validation of laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Assist in the investigation of, response to, and follow-up of client inquiries and complaints
  • May assist in limited internal and external technical support to marketing, sales, customer services, and clients regarding test, report, and other technical information
  • Coordinate with other laboratory technicians and/or assistants on sample receiving, logging, pretreatment, preparation, testing and other tasks
  • Conduct multiple projects within tight deadlines
  • Other projects and tasks assigned by company and supervisors

Qualifications

Education:
  • Prior laboratory experience or 2+ years towards engineering or science degree
Skills/Competencies:

Must be able to meet the following performance requirements:
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to lift and move sample boxes up to 25 lbs
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Quality and Operations systems
  • Windows-based computer programs including MS Word, and Excel
  • Effective understanding, written and verbal skills
  • May work with limited guidance, independently or as part of a team.
  • Takes initiative to learn and grow. Able to learn and apply new technologies and instruments
  • Forklift certification desirable
Pay Range is $21.00-$26.00/ hour
