Reports to: Program Director

Supervises: Elementary Students

Location: Washington Elementary, Pence Elementary, Fairfield Middle School

Hours: 4:00-5:15 at Washington and FMS, 4:00-5:30 at Pence. Hours per week will vary.

Pay: Will be based on FCSD pay scale

The focus of FCSD after school programs is to provide services and activities that help students improve in academics, attendance and behavior.

Primary Responsibility

The after school program staff member, under the supervision of the Program Director, facilitates and leads programs and activities in accordance with program and school policies.

General Responsibilities

  1. Maintain effective communication with the Program Director and/or school personnel at assigned site. Follow direction of Program Director or other manager(s) with respect to policies and procedures, and adhere to program requirements.

  2. Lead, participate in and take responsibility for after school program activities at assigned site.

  3. Communicate with parents, students and community members, as needed, in a respectful and confidential manner.

  4. Identify needed supplies and resources, and inform Program Director in a timely manner.

  5. Participate in professional development and program-related training activities.

  6. Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • At least 16 years old

  • Transportation to and from work site

  • Ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences

  • Willingness to work positively with and mentor youth

  • CPR and First Aid Certifications (FCSD will train if needed)

  • Pass required criminal background checks (over 18)

  • Ability to perform all tasks identified in this job description

  • Knowledge of after school programs, communities and/or positive youth development a plus, but not required
