Description

Principal Responsibilities

  • Spearhead quality related projects as determined by the Heim Management Team.

  • Perform statistical analysis relative to quality performance and product failure modes.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action/preventive action plans for process and customer related concerns.

  • Assist Quality Assurance Manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.

  • Assist with continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen events, lean manufacturing methods, etc.

  • Develop training to build quality awareness.

  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure production of new products or transfer of existing products are in accordance with approved data.

  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.

  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.

  • Ensure timely resolution to supplier rejections by spearheading corrective action and preventive action plans with suppliers.

  • Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct audits.

  • Preparation of QA reports.

Qualifications

An AS Degree plus 3 years of experience in a QA department in a manufacturing environment or on-the-job experience consisting of 5 years of experience in a similar environment. Must be able to travel appropriately 5% of the time. Must have experience with inspection of high precision bearings and FAA exposure is a plus or any combination of knowledge, skill and experience to the satisfaction of the manager.
