SGI Global, LLC Senior Technical Trainer - Logistics Trainer in Fairfax, Virginia

The Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) is a U.S. Department of State security assistance program focused on building international peacekeeping capacity worldwide in close collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). The GPOI program's mission is to strengthen the effectiveness of the United Nations (UN) and regional peace operations by enhancing partner countries' capacities to prepare, deploy, and sustain peacekeepers and reinforcing UN and regional organizations' performance and accountability frameworks. State's Bureau of Political Military Affairs, Office of Global Programs and Initiatives, Peace Operations Capacity Building Division (PM/GPI/POCB) serves as the GPOI Program Office.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Specialty Trainer shall be the Team Lead's principal trainer for others conducting specialized contract training requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • The Senior Technical Trainer shall have a minimum of 10 years of technical experience which includes a relevant blend of military skills, experience, knowledge, and current certifications that will enable that individual to successfully train specific task performance objectives on this SOW.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of U.S. or NATO military experience, including service after September 11, 2001.

  • Demonstrated experience planning and providing tactical-level logistics to battalion and brigade-level soldiers and their systems (tactical logistics functions include manning, arming, fueling, fixing, moving, and routinely sustaining approximately 500-800 personnel).

  • Relevant military operations or foreign security force (police or military) capacity building experience in the last 5 years.

  • (Preferred) Strong understanding of UN mission support demonstrated by UN assignment, DoD assignment, or civilian position with assigned duties reviewing UN mission support or reports

  • (Preferred) At least one deployment to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation while serving in a logistics unit or assigned as logistics staff officer.

  • (Preferred) Experience as trainer to a foreign security partner.
