ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company Financial Analyst in Fairfax, Virginia

Fast-growing IT-services firm working with the Federal Government is seeking a Financial Analyst in the metro D.C. area. This position will report to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. The Financial Analyst will analyze past and present financial data of the Company’s pipeline and estimate future sales, revenues and expenditures accordingly. This position will work closely with multiple teams and requires strong communication skills, analytical analysis skills, as well as an understanding of the federal procurement process. The Financial Analyst will be working in a dynamic environment with career advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual bottoms-up sales, revenue, and cost forecasts

  • Develop reports and presentations for monthly and quarterly reviews with senior management

  • Serve as finance lead on pipeline management and reporting requirements of parent company

  • Assess company performance and lead variance analysis for various stakeholders

  • Work closely with finance, indirect support, and program delivery teams

  • Implement and work with business intelligence tools and dashboard reports

  • Perform special projects for the Manager of FP&A and Director of Finance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study

  • 0-2 years of experience in FP&A, corporate / public accounting or program finance preferred

  • Strong experience in Excel modeling and PowerPoint required

  • Prior experience in government contracting or commercial consulting preferred

  • Basic understanding of US GAAP and financial planning and strategy

  • Cognos, Salesforce, Costpoint experience a plus

  • Good problem solving skills and the ability to think on one’s feet

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.

  • Ability to work well with others as well as independently with limited supervision.
