Our manufacturing client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team and become a vital part of our financial engine. As a Senior Cost Accountant, you'll be at the heart of our organization, ensuring the seamless flow of financial processes and driving excellence in every aspect of our operations. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for financial management, this role is tailor-made for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

  • Match charges with purchase orders (POs) and reconcile discrepancies.

  • Reconcile shipping charges from UPS and FedEx invoices.

  • Verify and reconcile overseas charges.

  • Manage and process rep commission payments.

  • Reconcile sales commissions with customer portals.

  • Conduct other financial reconciliations as necessary.

  • Evaluate Work in Progress (WIP) and report inventory status to relevant stakeholders.

  • Prepare a 90-day cash forecast to assist with financial planning.

  • Capture and manage data related to material movements.

  • Perform inventory counts and spot checks.

  • Assist with audit feedback and data provision.

  • Control and manage employee expenses, including gas reimbursements.

  • Verify customer/rep terms against orders to ensure accuracy.

  • Conduct credit checks and assist in invoice/accounts receivable processing.

  • Make collection calls as needed and provide shipping information for invoicing.

  • Manage QuickBooks, including data entry and reporting.

  • Ensure the accuracy of financial data and provide timely updates to management.

  • Utilize Excel for various financial tasks.

  • Assist in the month-end close process.

  • Lead and manage the Materials Team, setting tasks and overseeing projects.

  • Maintain a document trail for all material movements.

  • Capture data related to WIP and scrap materials.

  • Stabilize COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) projects.

  • Participate in the Paperless Office Project.

  • Contribute to the COGS Labor Cost Project.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in financial operations or accounting.

  • Proficiency in financial software, including QuickBooks and Excel.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
