Woodhaven Recovery, located in Factoryville, Pennsylvania and opening in late Spring 2024, is dedicated to providing specialized adolescent residential male continuum services. Tailored to meet the distinctive needs of teenagers, the program offers long-term residential support that seamlessly extends into young adulthood. Our teen program emphasizes integrated support, incorporating robust recovery principles, a dynamic high school program, engaging recreational activities, family education programs, and access to clinical support. Moreover, there is a strong emphasis on planning for the next step in each individual's journey. Complementing this, our collegiate recovery house is conveniently located in nearby Scranton, allowing our residents easy access to college and job opportunities.

Special Education Teacher (other secondary certified teachers considered)

Our school provides high school boys who are in early recovery from Substance Use Disorder the opportunity to participate in an engaging high school experience while residing in a Sober Living Environment. School hours are 10 am-1 pm daily.

We are seeking a talented special education teacher (other secondary certified teachers considered) to join our amazing team.

 

Responsibilities: 

Create and implement engaging lessons across all subject areas.

Capitalize on student strengths and interests to enhance learning.

Develop targeted instruction to remediate student weaknesses.

Provide collaborative learning opportunities and individualized support.

 Differentiate curriculum and instructional materials to meet the specific needs of students.

Work collaboratively with other staff members to meet the academic needs of students.

Utilize assessment strategies to develop targeted learning.

Assist students to identify post-secondary goals and guide them in plans for success.

Participate in IEP meetings with home districts.

Communicate academic progress and continued needs to students, home school districts, and parents.

Qualifications:

Pennsylvania Teacher Certification (Special Education Preferred).

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to connect with students who have struggled in the past.

Knowledgeable in effective pedagogical practices.

Dedicated and motivated to help all students experience academic success.

Eager to learn and participate in ongoing professional development.

Knowledge or interest in working with individuals in recovery.

Compensation: $35 an hour

Hours: vary from 3-6 hours per day
