Job Title:  Production Sewer Department:  Cut & Sew Classification:  Non-Exempt

Responsibilities: As a Production Sewer you will: Sew using an industrial sewing machine with various types of stitching on an assortment of materials in a production setting. Operate equipment needed for the sewing process including changing needles and bobbins. Produce good quality parts and inspect own product after it has been sewn; rework as necessary. Use tools such as scissors, knives, fasteners, stiffeners, glue templates and measuring devices. Communicate effectively with members of the department and other departments, including identifying problems relating to the products or processes and work together to find resolution. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements You're a great fit for this position if this describes you 1-2 years' of RECENT work experience on Industrial Sewing machines, very fast paced, single or double needle machines. High school diploma. Ability to accurately measure, read a ruler, basic math. Experience with joint seams, French seams (single and double). Experience with sewing vinyl, leather and canvas. Familiar with seam allowances and able to work with patterns and prints. Capable of construction with a sample for a guide. Some computer knowledge helpful. Detail Oriented. Can work effectively in a team environment. Experience with a serger a plus. Willing and able to learn cutting and gluing and the embroidery machine. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Help United Safety operate effectively by adhering to United Safety's attendance and punctuality standards and does not burden co-workers and supervisors unfairly with unnecessary and unplanned absences and lateness.
