Reference #: 1119771800 Remote position Responsible for the North American business development in the Aerospace and Defense Industry. Act as the focal point for Aero/Def sales activity. Coordinates the sales activities through direct OEM specification development/tier supplier, and the management/coordination of a rep and distribution network.

Develop and coordinate the sales and marketing strategies for the Aero/Defense market to include sales, product and market direction, as well as, new product development, which offer the potential for further market penetration and gross profit.

In Coordination with the NA Sales Manager, EIT and the Global Sales Manager, EIT, coordinate, develop, and monitor pricing strategies to the market.

Understand and communicate the systems necessary to actively participate in the Aero/Def Industry.

Develop and implement business plans in line with the strategic objectives of the group. The business plan should focus on increasing sales, gross margin, market share and our competitive advantage.

Promote and enhance the image of Tenneco Systems Protection as the pre-eminent supplier of protection products to the Aero/Def industry.

Work with Product Management and Research & Development to ensure new proprietary product developments and/or product modifications satisfy the customer expectations and needs.

Responsible for the monthly reporting of the US activity including the key objectives, new business opportunities, quotes and new product developments.

Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor.

B.S. degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or other related discipline

Minimum of 10 years sales experience Minimum of 5 years experience in the Aero/Defense market. At least five (5) years sales experience should include market development, product positioning, "specification" selling and sales channel development. Mush have experience working with manufacturer reps and distributions sales management. Outstanding inter-personal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with all levels, departments and operations of the company Excellent communication and technical writing skills Must be proactive, innovative and a self starter. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to evaluate and solve customer problems. Must be willing to travel at a minimum of 50% Microsoft office proficient including the ability to create PowerPoints and present to customers etc. Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM system.
