  • Location: Export, Pennsylvania
  • Pay Rate: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour.
  • Schedule: Monday -- Friday, Daylight hours

Machining personnel perform important hands-on manufacturing activities to ensure product quality meets customers' specified requirements. This includes machine programming, set-up, and operation in response to customer orders. In this regard, Machining personnel help ensure the effective implementation of Quality System processes & procedures to prevent non-conforming products from being sent to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute assignments per Job Travelers and customer-provided technical documents.
  • Develop operation, and as required, set-up and/or programming skills on assigned machines.
  • Consult with Supervisor to provide subject-matter hands-on expertise in response to customer inquiries and requests.
  • Master the knowledge of all tooling used for machining, permanent or disposable, to maintain adequate inventories that maintain process capabilities.
  • Ensure products meet customer's specified requirements.
  • Other work-area-specific and/or general company duties, as assigned.

Duties may include:

  • Using CNC programmable milling machines (horizontal & vertical), lathes (turret & conventional), tree mills, and non-programmable powered mills, lathes, grinders (surface, cylindrical & pedestal), drills, boring, tapping, threading, and honing machines and non-powered hand tools.
  • Reading blueprints, drawings, Job Travelers and Inspection Reports.
  • Program CNC machines, including creating & revising programs as well as loading
  • programs into the machines.
  • Set-up and operate CNC programmable machines, including getting tools & fixturing.
  • Set-up and operate non-programmable machines, including getting tools & fixturing.

  • Inspect all stages of production designated per technical drawing specifications.
  • Read & understand all gage dials, readouts, etc. associated with machining.
  • Count parts produced during a work shift and record quantities produced .
  • Carrying out preventive maintenance activities as required.

  • checking & maintaining proper greasing
  • checking & maintaining clean coolant and filters
  • Keep accurate records (time cards, time per operation, Inspection Reports, and
  • revisions suggested for Methods of Manufacturing [MOMs]).
  • Know how to teach subordinates:
  • inspection skills and documenting of inspection results
  • machine set-up, including getting & installing the right tools, and making fixtures
  • machine operation
  • machine programming
  • to place tooling re-orders so enough stock is on-hand to maintain process capability
  • preventive maintenance required before machine operation
  • generating and keeping/filing/forwarding of proper records
  • Run more than one piece of machinery/equipment simultaneously as required.
  • Be "Quality advocate" while training and managing employees to ensure product specifications are clearly understood and carried out.
  • Perform all work in a safe & responsible manner.
  • use both hands as necessary to safely operate equipment
  • report all accidents, no matter how minor
  • Address and satisfactorily resolve or help resolve customer concerns/complaints/

Requirements:

  • 10 or more years of CNC Machine experience
  • Lathe and Mill experience
  • Blueprint reading experience.
  • Advanced setup and programming skills are a plus.
  • Understanding of modern manufacturing techniques such as Lean M
