Raytheon Australia works closely with the Australian Defence Force as its trusted capability partner to deliver some of the most complex and ground-breaking engineering and technology projects in the country.

We are searching for an Environment Health & Safety Advisor to support mission critical communications systems at the Harold E. Holt Defence Precinct at Exmouth, in Western Australia’s northwest.

The precinct is vital to our nation’s defence and includes the Very Low Frequency antenna array for maritime communications, as well as the Space Surveillance Telescope and C-Band Radar, part of a worldwide network of telescopes and radars that detect, track, identify and catalogue man-made objects in space.

Ideally, you are someone with a high attention to detail and can work autonomously or collaboratively to ensure the stakeholder needs are met. With practical EHS experience in an operational environment, you are someone who works to exceed expectations to meet business, regulatory requirements to enhance and maintain a safe and environmentally supportive workplace.

Key responsibilities of your new role include:

  • Oversight for all EHS and operational facility requirements, ensuring statutory and organisational compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Developing, maintaining, and disseminating EHS resources, including training programs, toolbox talks, related documentation and maintaining records to meet compliance, internal and external audits and reviews.

  • Meeting reporting requirements, develop and deliver communication and maintains EHS website/materials.

  • Undertake contractor compliance, ensuring appropriate licenses, certificates and competency standards are met.

  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification, evaluation, and risk management in partnership with teams.

  • Model company values and comply with policies, procedures, and governance requirements.

Important skills, attributes, and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an operational environment and comprehensive knowledge of EHS legal framework and applicable Standards.

  • Proficiency in all communications formats; good presentation style and building effective working relationships.

  • Experience developing, monitoring, and managing health and wellbeing programs, including health management.

  • Proficiency meeting reporting requirements, preparing, and delivering written materials to diverse audience.

  • PC and software literacy, including MS Office and the ability to understand and apply business programs.

Please note that this role is offered on a full time Mon-Fri basis and is not a FIFO role.
