Boeing is seeking a Sustainable Flight Demonstrator Program (SFD) Senior Quality Manager to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA or Everett, WA.

This manager position will be responsible for leading the development and execution of quality strategies and plans for the Sustainable Flight Demonstrator (SFD) program.

The primary interface will be with the NASA Customer to ensure program quality requirements artifacts are identified, tracked and available to support certification of air worthiness throughout the development program.

The preferred location for this position will be in the Everett or Huntington Beach area during the initial phases of the program and will transition to on-site at the Boeing Palmdale location during the major modifications and ground testing phases of the program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Primary interface to the NASA Customer to ensure program quality requirements artifacts are identified, tracked and available to support certification of air worthiness throughout the development program.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal/external customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports.

  • Partners with other SFD IPT leaders in reviewing technical information to ensure safety, quality, air worthiness and producibility.

  • Provides education and coaching on activities required to achieve the objectives and requirements defined within the SFD Program Quality Plan.

  • Maintains interface and tracks alignment of other partner Quality Management Systems to support the SFD program requirements.

  • Manages employees performing quality engineering and technical activities for the Sustainable Flight Demonstrator through the development, modification and test phases of the program.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience in management or relevant leadership experience

  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard

  • Experience with performing risk management to minimize potential risks

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • First-hand experience with experimental aircraft development is highly desirable

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral

  • Experience working with NASA

  • Experience with aircraft modifications

  • Experience working with developmental programs

Summary pay range: $145,350 - $196,650
