Description:

The Assemblers will perform a variety of non-routine and non-repetitive production assembly operations of complex electronic assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, circuitry boards, panels, drawers and cables, magnetic or harnesses. This position is the top level for normal progression in the assembly job family.

uses metrics to define standards for productivity, quality, and cost. Incumbent is responsible for meeting all defined standards.

 Accurately determine methods and sequence of assembly operations where complete information is not readily available

 Correctly use wiring diagrams and assembly drawings

 Correctly create/make initial layout

 Perform wiring, component installation, and hand soldering with efficiency and attention-to-detail, working from assembly drawings or pictorial information

 Make continuity checks of work in process and completed units

 Disassemble, modify or rework, reassemble and test units accurately and efficiently

 Perform stripping, tinning or bending parts; fastening terminal connections correctly and efficiently

 Use schematics or blueprints, wiring lists, parts lists, and verbal and written instructions to accurately assemble, modify or reassemble units

 Responsible for training lower level assemblers

 Follow all environmental health and safety policies and procedures, model safe work practices

 Responsible for contributing to and supporting a positive and respectful workplace environment.

 Other duties as assigned

 Good hand/eye coordination

 Hand soldering, de-soldering and wiring knowledge

 Ability to work independently with limited supervision; ability to work effectively as part of a team

 Strong focus on customer service

 Ability to quickly master new business knowledge and technical skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear and occasionally required to climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities usually required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
